RESEARCH

     I offer a free consultation by e-mail, or snail-mail, at the beginning of your research, at which time I will ask you to provide me with all the information you have about the families you wish to research.  Please try to include any family stories or oral history.  The stories frequently contain clues that can assist us in tracing your family history.  My current hourly rate is $20.00 with a minimum of 4 hours initially.  A report of my findings will be prepared and sent to you at the end of the first 4 hours of research, and afterwards, after every 8 hours of research.  If you wish for me to proceed after the first 4 hours, my fees remain at $20.00 an hour with you deciding how much more time you would like to be expended on the research.  Of course, any unused amount of a retainer will be returned to you (rounded to the nearest 1/2 hr) . Copying of documents and records will be at $0.50 per copy, postage at the actual cost, vital records at the actual cost, LDS films at the actual cost per film, and FAXs' at actual cost.  Mileage will be charged at $.50 per mile after the first 10 miles.
